Every Night - Your child is expected to read for 15 - 20 minutes and fill out their reading log. They should be reading a book that matches the number (or is below that number) found on the front of their log (top right corner). For example, the number might say 7 so your child could be reading a book that has a 6 or 7.
Monday's - Reading Logs are due. These logs should be filled in every night, including the weekends. Your child is responsible for filling in the date, title, and the amount of time that he or she has read for. Parents / guardians, please sign the log nightly.
Friday's - Spelling Duo-tang (red) Every Monday your child will have new spelling words added to the front of their duo-tang. These activities need to be completed and handed in on Friday's so it can be checked and new words and activity sheets can be added. The weekly spelling activities include
- Look, Cover, Write, Check
- Write each word 3 times
- Write a sentence using each word
- Play Friends, Acquaintances, and strangers game
